SRK, Gauri, Hrithik, Imran Khan at Arjun Rampal’s restaurant launch
Shah Rukh Khan was there with wife Gauri, Hrithik Roshan came with wife Suzanne and Karan Johar was in attendance too. Model-turned actor Arjun Rampal got Bollywood celebrities in the capital for the launch of his restaurant Lap in Samrat Hotel. On this red-carpet event Friday evening, Imran Khan was also there with his girlfriend Avantika. Top Bollywood stars including SRK, Gauri, Hrithik, Imran Khan attented the event.

Poppadoms – as the Indian snack papad is called in Britain – will be an important part of Shilpa's Gourmet Creations, a range of low-fat readymeals, chutneys and pickles that will be sold in British supermarkets from 2010.
The irony isn't lost on Shilpa, who was called 'Shilpa Poppadom' by the late British celebrity Jade Goody in a reality television programme in January 2007, causing outrage in India and elsewhere.
"We're dishing out poppadoms they go really well with the curry," Shilpa told Independent Television News (ITN).
"There was this whole connection with 'Shilpa Poppadum' so brought back some weird memories, but we just wanted to tell people we have a good sense of humour," she added.
Jade, who died earlier this year of cervical cancer, denied she was being racist in using the name for Shilpa in a celebrity version of Big Brother, a show where 'inmates' live together in front of television cameras.
However, Culture Minister Tessa Jowell slammed the show as "racism being presented as entertainment".
Shetty, who along with her fiance, entrepreneur Raj Kundra, picked up a 33 percent stake in the V8 Gourmet Group for a reported six million pounds, said last week she will keep the new range healthy.
"There is this preconceived notion that Indian food isn't very healthy. We're making sure it will be under 10 percent fat. So it's going to be a healthy choice," she said.
The curries, which Shilpa will develop along with master chef Andy Verma, will be "less acidic and less spicy, catering to the taste buds here and keeping it authentic Indian."

Salman: Don't call me Bhai!!
This warning is strictly to all the strangers who meet Salman Khan, 'coz no one is allowed to call him Salman Bhai apart from family and friends.
During a recent radio interview, the RJ called him Salman bhai, and Sallu sternly said, "Call me Salman Khan."
RJ Siddharth says, "Salman doesn't like the fact that people unknown to him also called him Salman bhai.
Just like Govinda doesn't like being called Chi Chi by strangers. Salman also said that he only likes it when his close friends and family call him bhai. When I explained to him that I looked up to him as my elder brother, he softened and said that I could address him as Salman bhai for the rest of the interview."

Big B not made for politics
Amitabh Bachchan had a breif stint in politics as an MP two decades ago, but after leaving politics never returned back to it 'coz he is "inadequate for the job".
Big B wrote on his blog, "Many ask me why I joined politics and then why I left it. I joined it because I was asked to and left because I was inadequate for the job."
"Politics is a complicated world – a world where if you are unable to play the game, you would remain a novice and a stranger eternally. I admire those who have remained in it for long years. Admire the guile with which they steer their boats everyday, every minute. The ease with which they make associations and break them, reject foes and months later embrace them as dearest friends. It is a tough job.
"A job that I would never be able to do. I would never recommend it to anyone. But I do know that those that pursue this line, do so with utmost dedication and passion. Their dedication and passion is admirable."
Big B is currently in Singapore by the side of his dear friend Amar Singh who is underwent a kidney transplant recently.

Farah wants to end SRK-Sallu feud
SRK's good friend Farah Khan desperately wants to end the feud between SRK and Salman Khan.
Farah says, "I wish I could bridge the gap. I love both of them. It's (the fight) getting longer now."
Farah who invited Salman and his mom as her first guest for her chat show, is planning to invite SRK for the grand finale episode.
She says, "Since Salman had never come on a chat show before and was very candid during the show, we made him the first guest. But Shah Rukh will be the last one to keep the audience hooked till the end."
Well we hope Farah that your wish comes true.

There will be no train drivers on the Dubai Metro, and the advantages of this extend well beyond the saving of wages.
When computers instead of people are controlling trains, they are able to run more closely together, increasing use of the network by as much as 30 per cent, experts say. But the trains will be monitored continuously by control-room staff and an override system can halt them in the event of an emergency.
Robert Herritty, transportation market director in the industry and public sector business division of Alcatel-Lucent, the France-based company supplying the communications system that sends information between the trains and the central control system, said drivers were simply less efficient.
"With a driver, you need a certain headway," he said. "They have to see the red lights and the green lights and leave enough distance for safe braking. That's a human function.
"If you make [the trains] driverless, they move closer together because they react in real time to each other. When one slows down, the other slows down automatically."
On London's Underground, he said, some lines were being converted to driverless operations, increasing efficiency by 20 to 30 per cent.
Mr Herritty ruled out the option of keeping drivers and instead building long stations and long trains.
"You can do that for mainline operations, but you cannot do that as trains move round a city like Dubai. You have to have frequency."
While driverless trains may seem like a novelty, they have a track record across the globe. One of the most successful metro systems, according to Mr Herritty, is east London's Docklands Light Railway, which has no drivers.
Serco, the company that operates the Docklands railway, will also operate the Dubai Metro. The system is designed at "Nasa levels of safety", according to Mr Herritty, thanks to a sophisticated test methodology.
A failure is expected, he said, in just one second per 1,000 years. Similar communications technology supplied by Alcatel-Lucent is used on metro systems in Paris, Shanghai and Berlin, and by Network Rail in the UK.
If there is a power failure, the trains will stop automatically – just as trains in any railway do – and because they are automatically kept apart by more than the safe braking distance, they will not hit one another before coming to a halt.
"There are vacuum brakes," Mr Herritty said. "You have to have energy to power the braking system to keep the brakes off. At the moment the power fails, the brakes are automatically applied."
The manual override allows the central control room to stop a train in the event of a breakdown on another part of the network.
"There are people watching what's happening on the system all the time," Mr Herritty said.
There is a radio system between the train and the ground, which houses a fibre-optic network supplied by Alcatel-Lucent that runs across the network. The system has multiple pathways so that if one cable were cut, it would still work.
"It's not just data for signalling," he said. "It's data for maintenance, for example, so that if the air-conditioning system needs maintenance, the workshop knows in advance which spares to have.
"By the time the vehicle arrives in the evening, they're ready to work on the train from midnight to 4am when the trains are not running."
Similarly, the communications system transmits information about the train's location for the on-board information displays as well as for the video surveillance system and public address system.
It sounds very complex and it is. Indeed, Mr Herritty acknowledges that bringing together all the various elements of Dubai Metro – from the communications to the signalling to the rolling stock to the CCTV, to name but four – has been one of the major challenges, especially as many manufacturers are involved.
"Therein lies the secret and the test," he said. "It's difficult to integrate systems that have hundreds of interfaces."
But he said travellers could rest assured that the Dubai system, while up-to-date, was not pushing the boundaries. It is tried-and-tested.
"It's not cutting edge, it's not obsolete," he said. "Dubai has a world-class system that can be added to and expanded. It's been very well engineered."
The signalling system for the Metro is being supplied by Thales Rail Signalling Solutions, and it will be configured so the minimum gap between trains is 90 seconds.
